The organ of Seurre was built by Julien Tribuot, Parisian organ builder originating in Burgundy, and finished in October 1699. With the origin, the organ was with the Cistercian abbey of Maizières (St Loup de la Salle - 71). See this link http://www.saint-loup-geanges.com then tourisme - patrimoine, then abbaye de Maizières The notoriety of Julien Tribuot enabled him to be associated to Robert Clicquot to carry out the organ of the Royal Vault of Versailles, about 1708. The organ was bought by the parish of Seurre in 1791 (or 1793), when the abbey was sold to private individuals. Preserved at the four fifths, the organ was restored in 1991 by the organ builder Bernard Aubertin. The organ is used each year for concerts of old music and recordings of musical works. The historical organ of Seurre is recognized like a masterpiece of our partrimoine. It is a witness of what was the French school of the end of the seventeenth century (Grigny, Couperin, Boyvin, Raison, Nivers, Jullien...). For the anecdote, will know that "organ" is male in the singular and generally female in the plural.
